It had taken days to finally find the area around the entrance to the sacred tomb.  We had crossed the great plains of Karana carrying a large canoe and paddled through miles of the Innothule Swamp in search of the hidden entrance.  Our cleric and navigator had sworn we’d find it atop a raised bog of brush that would be unmistakable once we saw it.

Days ago, we had set out from Kelethin, the tree city home of the wood elves, where our group assembled - a Fighter, a Cleric, a Rogue, a Wizard, and myself, a Paladin.  In search of magical treasures rumored to be found within the hidden lair of a powerful demi-lich, the five of us had carefully planned and prepared months for the adventure.

We certainly weren’t alone in our quest.  Rumors of this great treasure buried deep below a swamp in the Northern plains had spread across Norrath.   Others were gathering in taverns across the land and plotting their own journeys.  But, our small group held an edge over the others.  We had fought many battles together and carried a deep bond amongst us.

I am Tattoo, a Paladin from the city of Kaladim, home to the Dwarves.  Upholding justice and righteousness, and standing with the good things of the world is in my soul.  Formally trained in the skills of combat, I wear the heaviest of armor for  conflict and have devoted my life to the gods of good.  The rosary draped underneath my armor grants me powers to heal and ward off the undead.

My friend Elizanthius is the tank of our group.  A towering warrior from Freeport, she is an exception to the rule and packs both might and intelligence, a trait each adventurer will need for this quest.  We met fighting the great dragon uprising in Sleeper’s Tomb years ago by accident.  Our party had mostly wiped, we had lost three (RIP Toastie, Scrab, and Conq).  Bleeding profusely and barely conscious, I witnessed her single-handedly slaying the ancient dragon who had taken down our party.  Carrying me to safety, we formed a bond that to this day still holds true.

Flower comes from Ak’Anon, home to the Gnomes in the Steamfont mountains to the West.  Trained in the healing powers of her deity Rallos Zek, Flower was outcast from her home during the Great Struggle and now takes up residence in Kelethin where we met in her shop.  In addition to her great powers of healing, Flower is a master of tinkering and exceptional in navigation.

Twiddler is the assassin of our group.  A wood elf rogue that also calls Kelethin his home, his uncanny ability to sneak past enemies undetected, pick locks, and disarm traps brings indispensable skills to our group.  His sneaking abilities in combat  allow him to position himself to backstab enemies and do massive damage. Together, he and Flower are partners and own a small apothecary in the city.

Ether is the last, but not the least of our group.  A high elf wizard from Felwithe, a city just to the south of Kelethin, he brings his sorcery and massive damage capabilities to burn down enemies.  He and I are old smoking buddies from Freeport, the largest city in Faydwer and together, we’ve seen it all.

Our group of five had trained together for months and studied all the known writings recorded in sacred tomes.  These tomes were only found on shelves inside the ancient monastery inside Felwithe, of which Ether had access to.  From the tomes, we knew this quest required equal thought as well as might, something most adventurers neglected to prepare themselves for.

...And now here upon us was the moment of truth.  We secured the small craft at the base of the hill and climbed upwards from the murky waters.  The sun setting to the West didn't afford much time to locate the entrance.  We feared having to camp overnight on the hillside with little to no cover.
